VETERINARY TECHNICIAN NATIONAL EXAMINATION (VTNE)
The Veterinary Technician National Examination (VTNE) is owned and administered by the AAVSB. The VTNE is used to evaluate an entry-level veterinary technicians’ competency to practice and be credentialed. The computer-based exam is offered during three testing windows a year and is constantly updated, reviewed and re-evaluated by highly-qualified item writers so that it remains a valid tool. The exam is administered at Prometric Testing Centers throughout the U.S. and Canada.
The Veterinary Technician National Examination is required by all provincial VT associations to obtain Registered Veterinary Technician/Technologists (RVT) status.
Information to prepare for the VTNE is available on the American Association of Veterinary State Boards (AAVSB) website here: www.aavsb.org/VTNE
