PHILIDELPHIA, Pennsylvania – Registered Veterinary Technologists and Technicians of Canada (RVTTC) is deeply honoured to be named the recipient of the Veterinary Medical Association Executives (VMAE) Best in Business Award, projects under $750,000. This distinguished honour was received in recognition of RVTTC’s RVT Career NavigatorTM, a bilingual national career planning and advancement website dedicated to Registered Veterinary Technologists/Technicians. RVTTC’s Executive Director, Shannon Thompson, RVT, attended the VMAE Awards Ceremony in Philadelphia, on July 29, to accept the award. “We are extraordinarily proud to be receiving this award on behalf of the almost 100 RVTs who contributed to the development of this project,” said Thompson. “Our organization aspires to have the RVT Career NavigatorTM become a key career tool for the RVT profession, now and into the future of this essential and growing profession. Recognition from the VMAE for this project is deeply meaningful.”

Veterinary medical associations make positive impacts everyday to the veterinary medical industry with successful programs and projects. The aim of the VMAE Best in Business Award is to identify and increase the recognition of those programs/projects. RVTTC hopes recognition from the VMAE will motivate veterinary medical associations to promote the RVT Career Navigator™ to employees and stakeholders, helping them to investigate, explore, and create their own career pathway based on their skills, experience, education, interests and professional goals. Veterinary practice owners and managers can also use the website as a retention tool that will help initiate career discussions with their team and find ways to expand their RVT careers within their veterinary practice.
