I HAVE ACQUIRED A NEW JOB IN A DIFFERENT PROVINCE — HOW DO I BECOME A MEMBER OF A DIFFERENT ASSOCIATION?
In Canada, the veterinary profession is regulated provincially. Registered Veterinary Technicians/Technologists moving from one province to another, are required to contact the administrator, registrar or membership director of both your home provincial regulatory association and your new provincial regulatory association to identify the specific process.
In Alberta, Saskatchewan, Manitoba, New Brunswick and Nova Scotia it is the veterinary medical association that is the regulatory body for veterinary medicine in these provinces.
It is your responsibility to establish contact and apply for membership with the new association(s) in the provinces you wish to move to. This must be done before you commit to work as an RVT in your new province.
