Medical Device Reprocessing in All Appropriate Settings – A Myth-Busting Course
This self-paced online course covers the basics of medical device reprocessing, i.e. cleaning, disinfection, decontamination, and sterilization of surgical instruments.
This course also covers the importance of implementing a quality system that includes a quality assurance (QA) and control (QC) as part of an effective and successful medical device reprocessing program.
The syllabus is composed of 26 chapters with discussion groups and a graded quiz for each chapter. I will personally monitor the discussion groups daily to support your learning. A personalized certificate of completion is provided at the end of the course and can be submitted to your professional association to gain continuing education credits.
Us as RVTs, we are a part of a multidisciplinary team focused not only on providing the best medicine, but we are also medical professionals that swore to Do No Harm when caring for our patients. In a world where we fight newly discovered viruses and multidrug-resistant bacteria (usually involved in post-surgical infections), our role in preventing post-procedural infection has become crucial to our patients’ recovery and wellbeing.
This course will allow you to save patients, one surgical instrument at the time! It will guide you on elevating standards to ensure patient safety.
Lastly, the course will also be offered in French soon.
