Acute Self-Care for Veterinary Professionals
Unique four-week microcredential developed in response to the mental health crisis within the veterinary and animal care community
Toronto, Ontario – Seneca is proud to offer a new microcredential starting on May 27 for professionals working in veterinary and shelter medicine.
Acute Self-Care for Veterinary Professionals is a cross-disciplinary program between Seneca’s Social Service Worker and Veterinary Technician programs, that was developed in response to the ongoing — and often unseen — mental health crisis within the veterinary and animal care community.
Veterinary and shelter medicine are rewarding yet demanding professions that require multifaceted approaches to wellness. Mindset and lifestyle changes foster wellness by strengthening one’s capacity to prevent and manage acute stress. This four-week online program includes weekly sessions focused on training and techniques to help navigate these nuanced stressors and demands.
Seneca has launched more than 100 short courses designed to help students and professionals acquire the skills they need to take their careers to the next level and respond to work disruptions caused by the pandemic. Acute Self-Care for Veterinary Professionals is ideal for animal care providers in veterinary and shelter medicine and students at all levels, including veterinarians, technicians, assistants and administrators. |
