RVTTC volunteer committees offer RVTs an opportunity to grow their own experience and portfolio, while contributing to RVTTC’s mandate to unite, advance and strengthen the Registered Veterinary Technician/Technologist profession.

RVT Month Steering Committee

RVT Month is a national event celebrated coast to coast every October. The month recognizes that being a Registered Veterinary Technician or Technologist (RVT) is an exciting career with many opportunities to work in a variety of fields as an essential part of the veterinary team.

We are currently recruiting RVTs to join our RVT Month Committee to develop themes and content for our October 2023 events. We anticipate a time commitment of one to two hours per month to allow for evening meetings and engagement. Interested RVTs are invited to contact Laura at communications@rvttcanada.ca

Workforce Committee (Ad Hoc)

Established to seek areas and opportunities for RVTTC to engage and contribute to industry efforts and initiatives addressing the workforce shortage, including the CVMA’s Veterinary Workforce Shortage initiatives identified in the “Expanding Veterinary Capacity in Canada” Workforce Report

Essential Skills Task Force (Ad Hoc)

Established to review CVMA, OAVT and CEGEP essential skills task lists and college accreditation information seeking similarities and differences to provide guidance to harmonizing standards where possible.

Finance Committee

Standing committee that oversees the financial situation of the organization. Primary responsibilities are to monitor significant financial planning, management and reporting matters, investment matters, make recommendations, and deliver reports to the Board of Directors.

Policy & Bylaw

Standing committee tasked with reviewing, on a regular basis, the consistency and appropriate application of the Association’s bylaws and policies, including the development of new bylaws and policies
